My Story

Hi! I’m Madeline. A Los Angeles based Production Manager, turned Wine Company Owner, turned UX Designer. Let me explain…

I spent the first 5 years of my career managing Creative Development departments on animated feature films. I didn’t know it at the time, but the Creative Development phase of an animated feature film is very similar to the UX Design process. Sequences in the film are constantly being iterated and improved upon to create the best film for the audience, just like designs are continually being tested and iterated on.

After the last movie I was working on wrapped, I learned about this career called UX Design. There was a career that centered around problem-solving, creativity, continual learning and human connection? It seemed too good to be true!

But, then I had the opportunity to start a wine company. Wine, specifically minimal intervention wine, is a passion of mine so we (3 friends and I) set out to create a wine with no additives! One of my tasks was to create the company website and this is when it was solidified for me that I wanted to be a full time UX Designer and part time wine-lover. Thus begins my career into UX!

I’m extremely excited to continue to learn and grow as a UX Designer and to create products that have an impact in people’s lives.

My Values

Hard work

If there’s one skill I know it’s that I have a strong work ethic. I always have the bigger picture in mind and am willing to put in the work for the benefit of the team and getting the project done.

Teamwork

If there is one thing working on animated films taught me, it’s the importance of teamwork. I believe in creating strong communication between team members most issues can be successfully resolved.

Positivity

I believe in fostering and contributing to a positive work environment. We’re designing great products - work should be fun!

Creativity

I believe all of us are inheriently creative. I think it’s important to continually foster that creativity in and out of work. When I’m not designing you can find me on a pottery wheel making bowels and
flower vases!

In case you’re having a bad day, here’s some pictures of my dog Moose! He’s the cutest.
